NOTES |
|
After meeting with your driver at the Cruise Terminal or Tuk Experience Base, you’ll start by getting to know the Marine Galleries, a set of buildings constructed in the 19th century and whose façade is made entirely out of glass windows. Next, you’ll drop by María Pita Square, a central location in the city where you can find historical monuments alongside restaurants, cafés and bars. On the way to the first stop in this Gourmet Experience, you’ll get to see the San Antón Castle, home to the Archaeological and Historical Museum, the Control Tower an important instrument for navigation, the Old City Walls that exude history, and the Seafront that relaxes everyone with its sea breeze and endless views.
The first stop of this tour will be the Tower of Hercules (if you depart/arrive at Cruise Terminal or Tuk Experience Base), which was built in the 2nd century and is the oldest lighthouse still in use. While here, you’ll have the chance to take some cool pictures with your family and friends and enjoy an unimpeded view over the Atlantic Ocean. Alongside this historical monument lies the next stop in this tour the Aquarium, which offers panoramic views and might be a cool place to return later. The journey will resume towards Orzán and Riazor Beaches, which, besides being a nice place to relax, are also associated with Picasso.
Watch as the Riazor football stadium stands proud, home to Deportivo La Coruña. The octopus monument, where you’ll also have the opportunity to stop, and the modern Millennium sculpture mark the way to Pontevedra Square, followed by Lugo Square, where urban life buzzes with vibrant activity.
The last stop on this tour will be at the Monte de San Pedro, where you’ll have the chance to appreciate the exquisite work of Michelin-starred chef Luis Veira in a delicious brunch. You’ll be amazed by the mouthwatering culinary experience and the restaurant’s ambience and vistas. Finally, on the way back to the cruise terminal or Tuk Experience Base, you’ll admire the Méndez Nuñez gardens, the historic Banco Pastor building and the Obelisk, a popular meeting point in the city. If you depart/arrive from Tower of Hercules, the tour will unfold from then one. The only difference will be a stop at the Castle of San Antón.
