NOTES |
|
Past, Present and Future meet in Lisbon in a perfect blend of old and new, of light and darkness. The habit of bringing a new life to the old by reusing and transforming materials makes Lisbon a place where you feel the many years’ worth of history alongside the hustling vibe of a city in constant movement towards the future. This is truly an inspiring place that in the past few years has welcomed the Street Art movement.
This Lisbon Street Art tour introduces you to this peculiar and fascinating world where art has no real boundaries, and anything and everything can become a work of art. We couldn’t start the tour in any other place than Mouraria, with a strong and irreverent soul, the birthplace of Fado music fits this street art tour perfectly. Next, we’ll head to Beato where you’ll get to see some pieces by Bordalo II, a street artist born in Lisbon that uses unusual materials in his work with the objective to raise awareness towards the pollution that humans create. The last itinerary point is Marvila, a quiet place with striking views over the Tagus River and where the typical busy noises of the city seem to die down. This neighbourhood located at Lisbon’s doors was the home of the MURO festival in 2017, which brought national and international artists to Marvila and gave a new life to about 15 walls.
So how about it? Are you going to come with us on an adventure through the hidden urban art of Lisbon? The pictures will be stunning, and by the end of the tour, you’ll want to discover and explore even more about Lisbon’s street art. Bring five of your friends, book this Lisbon Street Art tour and let’s do this!
