Myths about traveling

The idea of traveling and getting to know a new place is something that appeals to everyone. Yet many people don´t do it out of fear or often for having a misconception idea about what it actually entails.

Traveling is a matter of attitude and not of luck. If you choose to plan your trip with time and dedication you will see that some of the opinions you receive are just myths. Discover some of them:

1. “Traveling is dangerous”

This myth could be considered true a few decades ago, when traveling was an enigma and big surprises could arise along the way.

Nowadays, in the world we live in, any information is just a click away so you can easily do some research and anticipate where you are traveling to and discover what dangers you may find.

2. “It takes a lot of money to travel”

Traveling is for some a leisure activity and for others a routine. But this doesn´t have to be associated with overspending.

Having little money doesn’t stop you from spending a few days out of your comfort zone or taking a long trip. People with the most diverse incomes can travel, they just need to choose the right destination at the right time.

3. “Traveling alone is very complicated”

Traveling alone doesn’t mean being lonely. If you choose to see the world, with no one to make you company, you will have the opportunity to meet a lot of people and, perhaps, make new friends.

4. “It is necessary to know the language of the country where we are going”

This is another argument used not to go out and see the world. With the dimension of the English language, anyone who speaks it a little can get around in any part of the world.

If the English language is not your thing don’t panic you have a lot of apps, like Google Translator, that will talk for you.

5. “Traveling with the family is very stressful”

If you want to travel with your family, doing so doesn’t have to be a problem. The trick is to involve all members in organizing the trip, and to respect their tastes and preferences, from start to finish.

If you’re traveling with children, don’t forget to bring their favorite toys, snacks and water to prevent them from getting bored.

6. “Online travel platforms are not reliable”

Nowadays, there are thousands of online platforms and apps and an endless information about them. There is no way to be deceived.

When you travel, choose to use Booking, Uber and Airbnb, some of the examples that work to ensure the safety of their customers. Apart from these, there are more sharing services that are equally reliable, it is a matter of doing some research.
