Terreiro do Paço – Lisbon
In Lisbon, people traditionally celebrate the New Year in the city’s largest square, the Terreiro do Paço. Every year, the Municipal Government of Lisbon prepares a free-entry evening of partying and lots of amusement for those who choose to welcome the New Year in the streets, with music and fireworks beside the Tagus river. This year, the party goes on for three days, from the 29th to the 31st of December, and it includes shows by some of the most acclaimed performers in Portugal.
Convent of Beato – Lisbon
The Convent of Beato António is one of the most distinguished venues in the country, where you can celebrate the New Year in the best and most glamorous way. Year after year, “Le Reveillon no Convento do Beato” continues to be one of the most successful parties in Portugal’s capital, with prices ranging from 35 to 150 euros.
SUD Lisboa Hall – Lisbon
For those who are unsure about which Iberian capital to choose for their New Year’s Eve party, there’s always the option of combining them both by selecting the Réveillon Bamboléo at SUD Lisboa Hall, which features as poster stars the immortal Gipsy Kings, who will be there throughout the entire dinner and party. The evening promises great food, great drinks, great dancing and lots of amusement!
Estufa Fria – Lisbon
The Estufa Fria greenhouse is another venue with a history of magnificent New Year’s celebrations, hosting one of the largest parties in the Portuguese capital! This party is well-known for providing an evening of good vibes, good music and guaranteed entertainment!
Puerta del Sol – Madrid
Madrid’s largest party is held at Puerta del Sol. Every year, all eyes turn to this square in New Year’s Eve, not just in Madrid but across the whole country, via the televised broadcasting of the celebration. Thousands of people arriving from all corners fill up the square to welcome the New Year and eat the grapes of luck as the clock of the House of the Post Office chimes twelve. An electrifying environment, good music and eagerness to party are the ingredients that make the night of the 31st of December at Puerta del Sol an event not to be missed.
Las Tablas – Madrid
The venue Las Tablas presents a different way to begin 2019: a formal dinner to bid farewell to 2018 in very good taste, while you enjoy the best flamenco live show that brings together various styles onto a stage overflowing with energy, passion and dedication. This flamenco-inspired evening begins with a formal dinner before the show, which only pauses for a moment at midnight for the traditional grapes and champagne before seeing in 2019 with more drinks and dancing.
Kapital – Madrid
With seven floors hosting the craziest parties, the huge dance club Kapital is the place to be for night owls regardless of the time of the year, but its New Year’s Eve “Nochevieja” annual party takes the rhythm to a whole new level. Tickets include drinks and access to all seven floors, where locals and visitors alike welcome the New Year in an unrivalled party!
Westin Palace Hotel – Madrid
For those with thicker wallets, the luxurious Westin Palace Hotel proposes a special gala dinner brimming with grandeur. This year it presents a menu designed by chef Jesús Sánchez, who has been awarded two Michelin stars, inspired by the Cantabria region of Spain. Afterwards, tradition dictates that celebrations must be held in great style. This year, these are accompanied by the band La Buena Estrella and DJ Fernandisco. Tickets sell for around 635 euros and include prestigious wines, access to the dance floor, open bar and midnight snacks.
